I enjoy teaching. I have been teaching since 1993.
And of course, I enjoy learning (in this case about blogs). This is our class blog. It is meant only to provide a glimpse into the activities and work that is being produced and explored in the class. It a small window into our students’ daily lives. They will be providing a rich sample of the great thinking and creativity they are capable of!
This blog is a great way to keep in touch with me or the class. You can leave messages on the blog, or contact me directly at:
Alternatively, leave a message in the student AGENDA, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
At the moment the class schedule looks like this:
We have not yet received our library or computer lab time slots. I will modify the timetable as soon as I get them.
Homework will be written in the students’ agendas every day. The work written in the agenda is often work the students’ have done during the day (that needs to be finished). Even if the students have finished their work they are still expected to write it in their agenda and bring it home to show their parents. This way there will be no confusion.
Please note, the students are working on taking responsibility for their own work and behaviour. However there are some days that they might feel overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do. The guideline for homework is about 10 minutes per grade (grade 4 = 40 minutes, grade 5 = 50 minutes). If your child has been working diligently on her/his homework for that period of time, allow them to stop. They will be expected to bring this problem to my attention the following day, as well as presenting a solution to the problem.

And so the year begins with the empty class:
